Konos Academy presents Fiddler on the Roof, Jr. on Thursday and Friday February 7th and 8th at 7 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church, South Campus at the corner of Hwy 74S and Hwy 85S just south of Peachtree City. Fiddler on the Roof, Jr. tells the story of a group of Russian Jews during the early 20th Century in the waning days of Tsarist Russia. Despite the political struggles around them, the family of Tevya, the milkman, learns to adapt to changes in the marriage traditions as his three oldest daughters each finds love in her own way. Fiddler on the Roof by Bock, Harnick, and Stein, has been a successful Broadway show and movie. The most famous songs from the show are “If I Were a Rich Man,” and “Matchmaker.” The Konos production stars Nick Yokum of Fayetteville and Henry Bentley of Peachtree City as Tevya on February 7th and 8th, respectively. The Thursday performance, also stars Fayetteville students Stacy Felsted as Golde, James Pollard as Perchik, Maggie Spears as Tzeital, Andie Thacker as Chava, Isabella Segala as Yente, Sharpsburg student Samuel Dunklin as Model, Peachtree City student Marc Bohler as Fyetka, and Stockbridge student Mackenzie Rector as Hodel.
In the Friday performance, Savannah Lee of Fayetteville plays Golde, Paul Futch of Fayetteville
plays Perchik, Ann Moore of Newnan plays Tzeital, Susanna Shivers of McDonough plays Hodel, Marisa Harper of Fayetteville plays Yente, Jared Durrance of Stockbridge plays Model, and Hannah Bledsoe of Carrolton plays Chava. In both performances, Lazer Wolfe is played by Christian Stroud of Newnan, and Daniel Blanchard of Peachtree City is the Rabbi. Also featured are Sarah Futch, Kirsten Davis, and Kiona Davis, all of Fayetteville, and Brenna Durrance of Stockbridge.
The Konos cast of Fiddler on the Roof, Jr., includes a chorus of 50 students from as far away as Carroll and Newton Counties. Gymnasts and bottle dancers help bring this delightful tale to life. The play is directed by Dr. Dana Spears of Fayetteville. Denise Shivers of McDonough is the Music Director, assisted by Mary Caroline Moore of Newnan. The choreographer and Assistant Director is Joanne Lee of Fayetteville. Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for students. Special rates are available for groups of ten or more.
